Learn the basics behind importing and setting up videos inside your DAW. 1. Getting Started
How to set up your project and get video into your DAW. You will also learn some technical jargon relating to files and formats.
2. The Project
People management is an important skill to get to grips with when scoring films, and interpreting the brief and the client’s wants and needs is also a key part of the process.
3. Multiple Articulations
Spotting the film before you start is very important. Learn about tempo maps and different ways to approach the scoring part of the process.
4. Telling Stories With Music
Explore how to breathe life into the director’s vision for their film with multiple over-the-shoulder scoring demos in both Logic and Cubase.
5. Delivering Your Music
How to get your music from your DAW into the hands of the client, and what you are expected to deliver to them.

Course Instructor

Guy Michelmore is a multi award-winning film, games and television composer whose clients include Marvel, Disney, Dreamworks, Lionsgate and dozens of major TV networks around the world. He’s best known for his work with Marvel on eight animated feature films including Ultimate Avengers and Thor, as well as hundreds of episodes of television including Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, Iron Man: Armoured Adventures, Hulk and many more. His unique and accessible style opens up the whole process of writing music in a way that has seldom been done before.
Joining Guy is his composing assistant, Bradley Jordan. Bradley is a film, television and game music composer and music editor based in Chichester UK. He has been writing diverse and professional scores for a wide range of applications for 6 years, working alongside award winning composer Guy Michelmore. ​

Through his work for Guy, Bradley has worked for companies such as Marvel, Dreamworks, DQ Entertainment, and many more. Most recently working on Robozuna, an animated Children’s TV show for ITV and Netflix.
